Investing in My Future,
One Course at a Time
In today’s fast-moving world of technology, education is no longer a one-time event—it’s a continuous journey. As the industry shifts and evolves, so must we. The idea of earning a single degree and coasting through a career is quickly becoming outdated. Instead, staying relevant means embracing learning as a lifelong practice—woven into both our personal growth and professional development.
For me, this journey is about more than just keeping up. It’s about curiosity, resilience, and a deep passion for the ever-changing world of data, AI, and innovation. The courses listed below represent stepping stones on my path that help me stay sharp, build practical skills, and grow into the data scientist I aspire to be.
Code-nation Software development boot camp
I enrolled in a Software Development boot-camp in 2023. At the time, I wasn’t sure which area of tech I wanted to pursue, and I saw the boot-camp as a great opportunity to explore my options. During the course, I learned HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Mongoose and React. We built several small programs, over three months and then for the final project we all grouped together to build a huge comic book database.
This boot-camp not only taught me valuable technical skills, but it also helped me build my confidence. It was a transformative experience that ultimately inspired me to apply to university. Although my focus is now on Data Science and AI, I gained a lot from the boot camp and still carry those lessons with me today.
University of London - Foundations of Data Science: K-Means Clustering in Python
I completed the Foundations of Data Science: K-Means Clustering in Python course, developed by Goldsmiths, University of London, as part of my preparation for applying to their MSc in Data Science with AI. The course offers a fast-paced introduction to the core concepts of Data Science, focusing on the basic mathematics, statistics, and programming skills for typical data analysis tasks.
Throughout the course, I explored how data is used across industries from finance and medicine to social sciences and government to uncover insights and inform decisions. The hands on exercises and final data clustering project helped me understand not just the theory, but how to apply it in practice. It was a challenging but rewarding experience that strengthened both my skills and my confidence. Completing this course reaffirmed my decision to pursue Data Science at a deeper level and played an important role in my university application.
